About Us

The Wing-It Singers is a world music choir of around 35 people with an eclectic repertoire but specialising in the wonderful harmonies and haunting melodies of traditional songs from Eastern Europe and Georgia. They sing in three- or four-part harmony, mostly unaccompanied. Songs are taught at a moderate pace by ear.

From time to time the choir has sessions with visiting tutors from Georgia, Bulgaria, etc.

The Wing-It Singers perform regularly on stages, at community events, art galleries, weddings, outdoor festivals, folk clubs and in bars. In the last three years they have performed at the Jaqueline du Pré Hall in Oxford, and the National Gallery, Hackney Empire and the South Bank in London. Other London venues include the Round Chapel, Hackney; the Magpie’s Nest folk club, Islington; Biddle Brother’s Bar, and St Mary’s Church, Stoke Newington.

The choir has been led by Sally Davies since 2001.
